Cidade pode superar 41,8°C, maior marca já registrada em fevereiro

As previsões meteorológicas apontam para temperaturas elevadas na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, principalmente, nesta segunda-feira (17) e no dia seguinte.

O Sistema Alerta Rio indica que esses dias podem ser os dias mais quentes da semana, podendo bater o recorde de dia mais quente já registrado em fevereiro, que é 41,8 graus Celsius (°C), no ano de 2023.

“A gente pode passar disso principalmente na terça-feira”, informou a meteorologista chefe do Sistema Alerta Rio, Raquel Franco.

“A gente está em um fevereiro muito seco, com pouca chuva. A atual média [de chuva] agora no dia 16 de fevereiro é de apenas 5 milímetros (mm). Teremos mais uma semana sem chuva, e as previsões para o fim de fevereiro não indicam uma quantidade muito grande de chuva. Podemos ter um dos fevereiros mais secos da história”.

Diante desse cenário, a Prefeitura do Rio anunciou que, caso a cidade atinja o patamar Calor 4 no protocolo criado pela administração municipal, a população poderá contar com a abertura de 58 pontos de resfriamento. “São áreas que possibilitam sombra, pontos de hidratação e banheiros em Naves do Conhecimento e parques municipais, vilas olímpicas e outros equipamentos municipais”, indicou o chefe-executivo do Centro de Operações e Resiliência (COR-Rio), Marcus Belchior, acrescentando que a lista dos locais estará disponível no aplicativo do COR.

Além disso, deverá ser respeitada a parada para hidratação de funcionários que trabalham expostos ao sol. A rede de saúde municipal deverá estar preparada para o aumento de atendimentos de casos decorrentes das altas temperaturas.

A recomendação é aumentar a ingestão de água, fazer uso de roupas leves e evitar a exposição direta ao sol nos horários de pico de calor.

“Nós estamos no Calor 3 e temos uma probabilidade e possibilidade enorme de irmos para o calor 4 nesta semana. Provavelmente, nada indica pelas previsões de que a gente vá chegar no Calor 5”, apontou o prefeito do Rio, Eduardo Paes, em entrevista coletiva para avaliação das condições climáticas e anúncio de medidas para a população.

Paes disse que ninguém da administração municipal vai pedir o cancelamento dos desfiles de blocos de rua, nem impedir que a população participe de atividades na cidade neste período de verão e de carnaval, com previsão de calor intenso. 

Apesar disso, recomendou muito cuidado diante do cenário de previsão do clima.

”Qualquer pessoa que já pulou, brincou em um bloco de carnaval na cidade do Rio de janeiro durante o dia, sabe do que estou falando, mas a gente pode chamar atenção dos foliões para beber mais água, se hidratar melhor, tomar certos cuidados, buscar estar em ambiente em que os riscos à saúde sejam menores”, afirmou, comentando que a virada da leitura da prefeitura do Rio faz sobre o calor na cidade foi a morte, em novembro de 2023, por exaustão térmica, da estudante Ana Clara Benevides Machado, de 23 anos, durante o show da cantora norte-americana Taylor Swift, no estádio do Engenhão, na zona norte do Rio de Janeiro.

“A gente não quer controlar ninguém. O que a gente quer é que as pessoas tenham consciência do que está se passando, dos riscos, são preocupações que a própria população tem que tomar. Não vamos colocar um chip em cada cidadão”, afirmou Paes.

O prefeito destacou que o verão carioca sempre foi muito quente e que não é novidade a cidade atingir 40° C nesta época do ano.

Essa situação tem se repetido neste ano, mas agora com o agravante de que a intensidade, a repetição de dias com o calor intenso e a sensação térmica têm sido maiores do que o verificado na história.

“A gente busca trazer para vocês e para a população um alerta da semana que vai chegar. Tomara que a meteorologia confirme o sol, mas jogue as temperaturas para baixo. Eu seria o homem mais feliz do mundo se a gente disser que a semana foi inteira de sol, passaremos com sol até o mês de abril, mas a temperaturas permanecerão entre 25°C e 32°C na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Não é o mais provável”, completou.

Outra observação feita pelo prefeito é que o avanço da ciência permitiu dispor atualmente de mais elementos que mostram os impactos na vida e saúde das pessoas.

“No passado, sem as informações que a ciência, a medicina, nos dão hoje, pessoas morriam de calor no Rio de Janeiro em consequência das elevadas temperaturas, e o diagnóstico daquela doença que a pessoa enfrentava não era creditado ao calor.

Na medida que a ciência avançou, nós conseguimos identificar os malefícios trazidos pelas temperaduras excessivas na saúde das pessoas “, disse, contando ainda que o avanço da ciência permitiu aprimorar as análises de dados meteorológicos que conseguem hoje prever com certeza maior as temperaturas de períodos mais longos.

Citando a própria agenda, Paes disse que, para evitar riscos a moradores de Ramos e Bonsucesso, cancelou o compromisso que tinha neste domingo às 12h, para conversar sobre com eles as obras do Programa Bairro Maravilha. “Imagina aquele solzinho de meio dia, aquela obra no asfalto”, pontuou.

O monitoramento dos níveis de calor pelo COR-Rio começou em junho do ano passado. A classificação tem cinco níveis de risco que variam conforme a temperatura e a umidade relativa do ar registradas na cidade.

Durante a entrevista, Paes pediu a modificação na nomenclatura do protocolo, que foi criado com fases de níveis de calor de NC1 até NC5. Para ele, é mais fácil o entendimento da população passar para Calor 1 a Calor 5 (C1 a C5).

Desidratação

O secretário municipal de Saúde, Daniel Soranz, disse que as unidades de saúde municipais registraram um aumento na procura por emergências para o atendimento de pessoas por questão de desidratação.

“Só no mês de janeiro, a gente estima que 3 mil pessoas foram atendidas por problemas ligados ao calor ou à desidratação. Tem uma preocupação muito grande com idosos e crianças que têm menos sensação de sede, sentem menos sede e pedem água com mais dificuldades. A gente teve intenções de dois bebês por problema de roupa em excesso. É mportante as mamães, principalmente as de primeira viagem, estarem atentas à desidratação das crianças “, disse , apontando ainda a preocupação da secretaria com o uso de ceras de cabelo e filtro solar caseiro, que causam queimaduras de pele.

No caso das ceras, elas escorrem com o calor e podem provocar queimaduras de retina, segundo o secretário.

“Isso tem sido muito comum, muito frequente nas emergência”, completou.  

Os cuidados devem ser redobrados também em pessoas com problemas cardíacos, diabéticos e hipertensos que são mais propensos a descompensação mais rápida. O secretário pediu ainda atenção com os pets para evitar queimaduras nas patas ao serem levados em calçadas e ruas muito quentes.

Sintomas

De acordo com a prefeitura, o calor extremo provoca sintomas como aumento da taxa de respiração, piora na alergia e da asma, agravamento de doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica, lesões hepáticas, câimbras, espasmos musculares, fraqueza, dores de cabeça, tonteira, irritabilidade, perda de coordenação, confusão mental, delírio, ansiedade, perda de consciência, convulsões, derrames, arritmia, aceleração dos batimentos redução do fluxo sanguíneo para o coração, ataque cardíaco. Além disso, doença e falência renal.

A secretária municipal de Meio Ambiente e Clima, Tainá de Paula, disse que tem sido uma preocupação da prefeitura realizar projetos para minimizar o impacto desses efeitos do clima. Segundo ela, o município se adapta também no médio e longo prazo com iniciativas de reflorestamento que vem dando resultados positivos comparados a cerca de 15 campos de futebol ou 154 hectares. 

“A ideia de que vamos conseguir frear a mudança do clima, o aumento da temperatura da Terra não depende só do Rio de Janeiro. O Rio de Janeiro vai conseguir lidar nas próximas décadas com a sensação térmica, mas a diminuição dessa temperatura não depende infelizmente só do Rio. É preciso que a gente consiga construir uma pedagogia climática, mas também construir uma ideia de que todas as cidades vão construir com uma adaptação”, concluiu.
